Training for new Wolves

  • I have copied and pasted all valuable information from the original thread if I have missed any thing please feel free to add it here.

    • -Tiffany Larson I am making this to help new wolves who want or need help with raising and training thier wolf cub!

I will try to give just basic information on game play to help you.

    -Tiffany Larson Fighting:

With every fight you win, you get one attack point, so when trying to decide what to spend your silver on your best bet is defense points, because when you are attacked the other wolf has to have a higher attack point then your defense point, and since you get your attack points for free spend your silver on the defense as it pays off in the end.

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

-Tiffany Larson How to pick your fights:

When fighting pick a wolf that has a lower defense point then your attack point, and no it does not matter what their attack points are as you are the aggressor, so it is your attack points against their defense points.

-Tiffany Larson One item you may want to consider buying in the shop is the Sight of Silver Potion. This item lets you see all the wolves with high amounts of silver in your fighting range first, and let me just say that I was amazed at the amount of people putting all of their silver into attack and nothing on their defense making it easy for me to get a nice amount of silver to build up my defense, but this item seems to be best use when you are a low or new wolf.

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

    -Tiffany Larson Stealth:

This gives you a bonus towards your attack points when fighting, so should be brought up. A good time is after reaching 300 defense points, and it seems to give you one bonus point for every 12 stealth points. Correct me if I am wrong on this but this is what has happened for me.

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

    -Tiffany Larson Food:

You only get 50 turns a day and most if not all of that should be spent on fighting since you can buy food in the shop. The reason I say this is because a rabbit cost 50 silver but when fighting you may win 100 silver, and hunting is no sure way to provide food and you miss more than capture. If you are worried about bringing up your hunting skills try to save doing this until after you reach 500 attack and defense points. Then switch back and forth to see how it works for you.

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

    -Tiffany Larson Train/Care:

Remember to dig for silver once a day, this takes one turn but gets you free silver, and at times I have found 500 silver, so well worth it.

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

    -Tiffany Larson Happiness:

You will find that your wolf stays happier if you fight, unfortunately this uses stamina, to help combat this you may want to think about keeping a banana on you at all times. I tried everything to make my wolf happy when I first started playing, but nothing worked except fighting! Delete

    -Tiffany Larson Honor:

Given every fourth level..ie 4, 8, 12, and so on. You have to watch this as many of us start to look forward to getting that 500 pieces of silver when we level up and train, but now you can buy your first Sight of Silver Potion!

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

    -Tiffany Larson Silver:

Under no circumstance should any wolf have more then 14 silver on them at any one time unless you are a high ranking wolf with a lot of defense to keep what you have, as this makes you a target in the fighting area. Try to use as much as you can to bring up your defense and to buy turns. You can buy 50 turns a day.

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

-Tiffany Larson Please feel free to add to this as any help is very important to new wolves just joining the game!

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

Ashley Dzubak When you capture a wolf, check how much silver you could get for ransoming them. If the amount is less than what you would pay for an attack point, kill the wolf. Nothing happens to the wolf that is killed, and you get a free attack point. If you can get more silver than what an attack point is worth, ransom the wolf and spend your silver on some defense!

about 6 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet That's going to come in really handy for new wolves who arn't sure about things yet Tiffany, good job! If i could correct you on something though.. Your right about being able to buy 50 extra turns a day (once your the right level), but you don't actually just have 50 per day before that, you just can't have anymore than 50 turns at any one time. Seeing as you gain a turn every 20minutes, thats 3 an hour.. so as long as you spend some turns before it reaches 50 you will continue getting them every 20mins. That makes it a total of about 72 turns a day if you don't leave your turns to cap out. Hope that makes sense.

Dan Dupree How can I get rid of a wolf in my pack?

about 6 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet To remove a wolf from a pack, the alpha wolves of the pack have to start a vote for them and after a certain amount of pack members votes Yes, they get kicked out of the pack

about 6 months ago • Report

-Tiffiny Lynn Larson The Alpha and the Beta wolves are the only ones you can not vote out.

-Tiffany Larson One question Jenni, what level is it where the being able to buy up to 50 turns a day sets in?

about 6 months ago • Delete Post

Jenni Murfet If memory serves i think you can buy turns from quite low, i think it was level 5! And silver collecting is available from level 12. I can't remember when hunt training opens up though =/

-Tiffiny Lynn Larson After we are able to buy turns, do we end up with more then 100 turns a day if we play on a regular basis?

    -Tiffany Larson Silver Potion:

When using this item you have to remember to pick between the "Normal Order, or the Wolves with the most Silver" at the top of your fight area. Other wise you will still be seeing the normal silver amounts being carried by the wolves verese the ones with the most!

-Tiffany Larson Jenni, when is a good time to start working on your stealth skills?

about 5 months ago • Delete Post

Juan Fe I honestly do not agree with the food post I think it is a good idea to hunt. I spend 25 turns a day hunting and that has given me a high chance of capturing prey; and the fact that it also may increase random stats like happiness, anger, and lower fear.

This is just my strategy though

about 5 months ago • Report

-Tiffany Larson Juan, by spending 25 of your turns just hunting how do you get your defense and attack up to a decent amount, and how much are you able to put towards silver learning in order to get more when you do fight?

about 5 months ago • Delete Post

Juan Fe i sell some of the food and use it to buy turns and defense... which now i guess it was a dumb idea in the 1st place

about 5 months ago • Report

-Tiffany Larson The food does not sell for as much as you could have been getting by bringing your silver learning up.......

about 5 months ago • Delete Post

    • -Tiffany Larson Not dumb, we all have learning streaks, I made the same mistake with mine when I first started out so have a hunting score of around 200 and something....

about 5 months ago • Delete Post

Robert Worobetz @juan, actually your detriment is that your actual -useful- skills are lacking ( attack and defence ), you should, if not use 100% of your turns fighting and building your defence up to match your attack ( i prefer having a somewhat even stat wolf) and using 25-30% of cash earned on silver collecting...

and most of this information wasnt handed to you like this when i first started out, it was a fall-flat-on-your-face learning curve, and be happy and thankful people are trying to get you going without running into walls of frustration...

about 5 months ago • Report

-Tiffany Larson We are trying to help as we don't want anyone to feel the same frustration we all had in the beginning ......Thanks for your post Robert. I have been trying to do that now I am making more silver then when I started out, but like most having problems evening out my defense with tmy attack.......

    • Jenni Murfet Havn't checked this post in ages, sorry Tiffany! I'm really not sure about the Stealth score.. i didn't have a high stealth at all until only a short while ago, i'm not sure how much impact it has on gameplay. I don't know whether it helps you with captures or anything.. maybe someone else knows how the stealth score works a little better? If it doesn't seem too important i'd just chuck a few points on it now and again.

As for max turns.. 3 an hour adds up to about 72 per day (so long as you don't let it cap out at 50 at any point), add on 50 when you can buy them.. So you can approximately get 122 turns per day. This is where knowing how to find more wolves will come in handy. Alot of people will eventually run out of wolves they can fight from the fight tab, when this happens you need to start using other wolves fight lists to try and find wolves that you havn't fought yet

    -Tiffany Larson Thanks Jenni!!!

Great going Peter...love the top as it keeps it in sight for the begginers.....

Kaizer Von Shizer Question, how do you use potions? I bought an Awareness Potion and have no clue how to use it.

about 5 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet The awareness potion just works in the background for a certain amount of turns, i can't say it's always worth it though, you can only get trapped once every 8 hours and it only lowers your chances, at some point you'll probably still get trapped irrelevant of the potion. And if you get trapped early on you know your guaranteed to be clear of them for the next few hours anyway

about 5 months ago • Report

Debra Winch Knutson From what i have noticed for every 10 stealth points you buy it increases your stealth bonus by one point.....which increases your attack score

about 5 months ago • Report

Debra Winch Knutson I do hunt some as it increases your hunting skills .....and odd other things. I don't waste alot of turns though and i am up to 62 percent on my hunting skills so it usually only takes a few turns to get my food up where i want it.

about 5 months ago • Report

-Tiffiny Lynn Larson Jenni, what exactly does the different potions do? I know the Silver sight lets you see the wolves with the most silver on your fight page, and the weaker wolves for the Tracer of Weakness potion, but like you were just saying about this Awareness potion and some of the others like the pain killers and the rope, how do they work....

about 5 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet I don't know how helpful some items will be to everyone, because i've either not seen much difference with using them myself, or at my level they arn't of much use to me anyway, but i'll say about any items i know about.. =)

Like i said, the Awareness Potion lasts for 40 turns and it gives you an extra percentage chance to not get trapped, personally i don't use this, i find that i always get trapped eventually anyway and because my wolf is high i don't mind giving a lucky lower wolf my 5000 silver bum lol, also being trapped isn't so bad because at least you know you can't be trapped again no matter who you hit afterwards for the next 8 hours. Younger wolves may want to give it a go though, you may think it helps you out at times, but for the amount of silver it costs it's down to personal choice but i would encourage you to just spend it straight on defence.

The Painkillers up your defence by a percentage of your existing defence score for 20 turns, this i would say is a handy item for people that get hit often, only drawback is that it doesn't last very long, so it may help you get hit less by your usual attackers if you use it when you've finished playing so you can have it adding to your defence while your not around, and then it will still last for a while when you come back and play next time. For the price, give it a go.

The Silver Claw Tips, Sharpened Teeth and Strength potion all actually add attack AND defence on i believe, not just attack, so again for the price, whether it's just one or all of them, they can increase your score significantly, enough so that you will be able to hit wolves you wouldn't have thought you could and earn more silver from.

As for the rope, it increases your chance of capturing wolves when attacking them by about 20%. It's very expensive and it doesn't last very long. Captures tend to come in groups, so if you don't have luck with your timing it's a lot of silver wasted. I personally havn't noticed any difference with it than without, i still get random captures throughout the day and havn't noticed that i capture more when using it.

The Banana gives you an added chance of not losing stamina when hitting, personal preference on this one, if you find yourself running out often give it a try and see if it helps you out, if it doesn't seem that helpful then don't bother.

One more thing i'll touch on is the Blend option in the Train/Care section. Alot of people are finding it confusing. When you use it, your wolf blacks out on any fightlist it is currently showing on, and all the fights on your own fightlist also black out and will stay that way. However when you attack again after Blending your wolf name will start appearing again and the wolves you've hit since using it will be clickable as usual. Hope that clears up stuff.

    Phew, lol

    • Ariel James Thanks this is soo helpful. How do you find a pack to join

about 5 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet Ariel when you make your wolf, if you have any friends that are already in a pack you have the choice of joining any of their packs, if none of your friends play then you get to make your own pack. From there though if you want to change pack you can ask around in here and someone may invite you to theirs, or you may get invited through someone capturing you

Jennifer Baker what are the reasons you wouldn't want a wolf in your pack? I've seen where you can kick wolves out but dont understand why you'd want to...

??? Our pack only has 2 wolves

about 5 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet Some packs that are very active get people join that then stop playing, so when they get a full pack they need to make room for more active players instead. Or sometimes someone joins and isn't very nice or causes trouble

about 5 months ago • Report

Jennifer Baker what happens when the wolves are inactive? They can still help on raids and things right?

about 5 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet Well nothing apart from them taking up a space. You still get their score added to your overall pack score, and it will go towards helping you with raids, but in the long run if they arn't playing the space is wasted, it could be taken up by someone that is increasing their score for you instead

Jennifer Baker okay got it :) Thanks

about 5 months ago • Report

-Tiffany Larson You either have to have a friend playing who can send you an invite or ask one of the players here if you can join and add them and have them send you an invite, the only other way is if you are caught and that person ask you if you want to join them.......

You may want to post your stats and stuff where people are asking for active wolves to join them.....

about 5 months ago • Delete Post

    Shannon Montique Thank you!

    • Jenni Murfet Has anyone said yet that what's very important is, DON'T KEEP SILVER STASHED lol. Unless your 'saving up' for something, don't leave any silver on your wolf and don't let it build up too high before spending it, it makes you a beacon for other wolves to attack you. Get rid of it on defence before someone else nabs it for theirs

Peter Shergalis Pack raid are really not very good for Alphas... but they may help the pack a bit. Also I love knocking down the other Alphas and making them waste turns to get back up (and possibly ruffle some fur on the way back up). Generally I just do it when I don't have time to use all my turns.

    • Dawn Elgendy Thx for the reply! Unfortunately we have been having problems with a particular wolf who has been exiling all the females to stay alpha. So the pack females tag teamed and brought her down to #3. Then we exiled her.

about 5 months ago • Report

-Tiffany Larson I think I get what you are asking Henny, you want to know why your stats are changing from high to lower, if this is what you are asking it is because of your emotions, if you are unhappy when you first log in and start to play your stats will be lower and if you are attacked while you are playing they can go a bit lower, and if you are angry when you first start playing your stats will be a bit higher then normal then as your anger comes down so to does your stats!

Ellen Forshaw People keep recommending sight of silver - but that honor point can be sold for 500 silver -

I enjoy scanning the ten wolves and would not consider paying an honor point.

Sight-of-silver may be OK for slow computers. I recently bought a new laptop with dual-core, and I use Firefox for good speed.

about 4 months ago • Report

    • -Tiffany Larson @ Ellen, that is true but with the sight of silver you can fight 50 wolves total, and they do not have to be in the same day, and make three times that amount by hitting just two or three wolves that are carrying 1000 silver or more, so in the long run buying the sight of silver will make you more silver than if you trade it for 500 silver one time only.

    • -Tiffany Larson Stealth doesn't seem to be important till about level 15 or higher as it does bring your attack points up, when maxed it gives you 120 bonus while fighting and a 200 bonus period, which is wierd...

Ashley Marie Gorzelany it helps fighting, and it also helps hunting. silver collecting for me is maxed, next i plan on maxing is stealth, then going back to defense.. and hunting will come in it's own time... will be a long month or so for stealth to get to 1000, it's at 300 or so now, closer to 4000. or maybe it is already 400, i don't remember...

    • Rachel Ridenour How is score determined? There are people who have a higher score than me, but both my attack and defense skills are a lot higher than theirs.

about 3 months ago • Report

Misty Kirch I just found this out actually cause I was like 7th beta when I had no shop items and like 3rd with them all your items are calculated into your score and when they drop off it lowers your score ......... I hope that helps

about 3 months ago • Report

Rachel Ridenour Yeah I knew shop items improved ur score, but I'm like the 9th Beta right now and the wolf Radiant Star above me has a higher score than me but I know I'm stronger than her cause I've come across her in the fight page everyday. I'm also a lot stronger than the beta male in the pack but he has a higher score than me.

Diana Van de Sande Hi Tiffany,

Thanks for the good job. It is great to see other wolves are starting this game and have some problems too! So I am not the only one. I am a new Belgian wolf and Alpha mail in a pack of 22 wolves. Half of them is not playing anymore. What should I do?

How do you get honour points? Because that is what you need to get that 'silver potion' (silver potion is for fighting with wolves who have a much silver isn't it?) and you also need it if you want to change to another pack. Who do you do that?

I am playing this game for 2 weeks now and things are going well except that my english is sometimes not good enough to understand everything.

    Hope you can help me

    Thanks already

    gr Diana

about 2 months ago • Report

Rachel Ridenour You get an honour point for every 4 levels you gain. So you'll get one at level 4,8,12 and so on ^_^ Since you're alpha you can start a vote to exile the inactive wolves. And to switch packs you'd either need 2 honour points, or need to be invited by someone who has an honour point. You can either start a topic saying ur looking for a new pack or look through topics already posted to see if anyone's looking for new pack mates. Hope this helped ^_^

about 2 months ago • Report

  • Diana Van de Sande Great thanks, this will help certainly! I also just noticed that for inviting a wolf you need honour points too? I want to do that beacause my pack is very weak at the moment. So getting honour points is the only thing I can do?

I already started votings to exile but since only a few wolves are playing in my pack I do not get votes enough.

Do you know how many packs there are in Belgium? How can I see that. Because this game is not very known under my friends, they do not play it....but hey they do not know what they are missing hahaha :D

Thanks for your support I can use all the explanation I can get.

about 2 months ago • Report

Rachel Ridenour Yeah, to invite a wolf you need an honour point. If you find someone who wants to join ur pack, you can become friends with them on fb and then go to friends tab on WP and click on invite. Or if that person already has 2 honour points they can use them to transfer to ur pack. You can view how many players there are in Belgium by going to the Rankings tab and there's a ranking for countries. Click on Show My Country and it'll show you how many users there are from Belgium.

about 2 months ago • Report

Diana Van de Sande Oke, I already tried to go to ranking tab, but tab for ranking for countries is not working perhaps because of an error?! It only gives the 10 first countries, but you can not push on it. So perhaps I have to wait for a few days and try again.

Thanks a lot for your advice!

-Tiffany Larson Diana, thanks for the nice words, glad to see this is helping so many people. Another way to get people into your pack is to invite the ones you capture as it uses no honor but you may not get any silver from them doing this and no garruntee they will join...and before you ask a captured wolf if they would like to join you should check to see if they are active and also if they are a lone wolf as they are more likely to join!

Diana Van de Sande Hi Tiffany, I did everything you said, but I just wanted to invite a captured wolf who was a lone wolf, and without getting his silver, they still ask for 1 honour point. So I guess they are always asking for honour points if you want to invite?

about 2 months ago • Report

Rachel Ridenour Are you doing it from the wolf trading post? Because if you invite them from their wolf's profile page, it'll still ask for an honour point regardless of whether you've captured them or not.

-Tiffany Larson In the trading post you should see this next to the wolf you captured: Ransom wolf back to pack, Execute, set free, and invite this wolf to your pack.

Diana Van de Sande Hi Tiffany, just to tell you that it is going very well in our pack now, I kicked several wolfs out and received a few new ones in the pack, I did things just the way you adviced me and see what happened, our pack went from rank 238 in a few days tot rank 161!! With 19 good wolves instead of 28 from which half of them did not play anymore!

I just have one question, how do female wolves have to increase their position in a pack and finally become alpha female because someone joined my pack with high levels and she is starting at the bottom?

    byebye Diana

about 2 months ago • Report

Rachel Ridenour They have to go to fight in pack and fight all the wolves in the ranks above them til they get where they want to be. Everyone who joins a new pack starts at the lowest rank ^_^

    • Diana Van de Sande Hi Tiffany,

Things are going well with my pack. Only the last few days I notice I already got several times attacked by big wolves with very high scores which I believe has a great impact on my own scores, is n't there a sort of limit which level can attack which level?

I believe this has also to do with the time I can play. Most of the wolves attack me at night (Belgian time) when I am sleeping. If my pack wins several fights also during the night, a lot of silver is coming on my account and stays there until I can play back again next day. But then I am already attacked by dozens of wolves who pick me of course for my silver. Also the big ones!!

So can wolves with very high scores can attack you because of the silver you own?

But I still enjoy very much to play this game!!:))

    Big hug

-Tiffiny Lynn Larson Some wolves do what is called line fighting, they find you on other peoples fight lists, and no it won't hurt your stats only make your wolf more fearful and angrier. Under normal game play a higher wolf can not hit you but with line fighting they find you and can hit you.

about 2 months ago • Report

Misty Kirch It isn't as bad as ya think I found it made me really grow fast getting hit alot and most of the time if you check Diana you can earn a def point for getting hit =)

about 2 months ago • Report

Diana Van de Sande Hello Tiffany and Misty,

Tiffany yes I am aware of the way that many wolves try to find other wolves to fight via line fighting, also the big wolves..... First I thought it is not fair, but if it does not hurt my stats I think its OK. Perhaps 1 disadvantage I can not fight them back because they are too strong :)) On the other hand I also agree with what you say Misty, I am growing very fast and yes sometimes I earn a def point for getting hit! For the rest everything is fine. In 1 week I could triple my attack and defend points! I love the game a lot.

One problem I do not find any friends here in Belgium to play. I think the game is still not very known yet here. I do invite other wolves when they are captured but no reaction. I have now 9 members in my pack, 7 are active and we are strong but I need a few members more. But I keep trying!!

Thanks for all the good advice!!

    Love ya Diana

about 2 months ago • Report

Carrie L. Tyler Hi I am new here and am wondering how do I gain fear and anger?

about 2 months ago • Report

    • Misty Kirch Carrie .... you gain it by being attacked once you move a little higher up you will find more active wolves and they will attack back and this raises your anger and fear ..... you can do it by losing fights but I don't suggest it cause you also lose silver

Diana Van de Sande hello Ladies,

following problem : my strongest wolf has suddenly abandoned my pack. We worked hard to get to level 121 but now the level of my pack has decreased from 121 to 137!. Also attack and defend levels have decreased.

I have many troubles with inviting new wolves. For the moment I have 9 members from which only 5 or 6 are active. I invite other wolves while captured. Then when finally a wolf join my pack he or she stops playing . Most of the time they are beginning wolves. And the only thing I can do is waiting untill he they are kicked out! Is this because they do not love the game or they do not understand it, I don't know.....?

How can I invite other wolves? I have 3 honour points at the moment. Do they have first become your friend on FB?

Is there a possibility to get my cubs into my pack?

greetz from Gandalf the White, the unhappy wolf :((

about 2 months ago • Report

Jenni Murfet Diana it can be hard finding active players, but if you stick at it you will eventually get some join you. Unfortunately sometimes if you want to do well in the ranks you will have to sacrifice being part of your current pack and move to another pack yourself. You don't need to be friends with people on facebook to invite them/receive invites, you just need to ask them for their wolf i.d which they can find by going to their wolf from the pack tab and noting the number at the end of the link in the address bar. You can then change the number at the end of any wolf link to theirs and see their wolf. You can then send them an invite from there. It can be quicker to just be friends with them on facebook though, or if you want good communication and a friendly pack it's always a good thing anyway. Also, it's in the plans to enable cubs to join your pack but it will be a while yet

Hank Daye Hey diana. Welcome to wolf pack and glad to hear things are going good for you. Here is another idea for you about finding wolves to recruit. I tried the forums thing and had no luck what-so-ever but i have had luck with advertising the recruit link on my wall. Going thru fight list of wolves in my pack and recruiting those wolves attacking by sending them a message about recruiting and links to see my pack and my FB page so they can send a friend invite if they decide to. I've managed to pick up a few members just by sending messages. Anyways like i said another idea for you. Good luck in your recruiting. :O)

-Tiffiny Lynn Larson Capturing while fighting is completely random not stats determine the out come.

Stealth affects both of your attack and defense.

These training abilities provide for your wolves moods and stamina, play fight with your wolf brings your stamina up one point, and Howl with your wolf brings up your happiness by one point.

Jason Taylor Captured wolves, not worth much silver or perhaps very new players captured in a raid, might be best served to let go free, which yields +1 def, or execute, which yields +1 attack (this in fact does not actually kill the wolf), or invite to your own pack, which equals free invite without costing an honour point.

  • Nice ideas, but I think I need a bit of advice.

I have been inactive for about a month. I only came back, and realizing an alpha male was now present in the pack,(a month ago there were only 2 females- me and the beta) I decided to challenge myself and raise a cub. However, in that month, I lost about 100 or so attack points, so now I cant decide If I should buy more defense, or more attack. :/

Also, I tend to use up all my turns right before I go to bed on hunting- I spend all my sliver on training so I have none to buy food... good idea or bad idea?

  • Well Erin if you spend the turns on fighting instead of all in hunting you will gain more attack. Then any wolves captured kill them for the attack points spending silver on defense. Save only like 10 for hunting and start a pack hunt before bed on the trials for more prey ridge tops for more silver

  • Thanks for the adive. I have since moved to a more active pack, but my main probalme is im at school, then homework, so I dont have much time to fight. >.<

  • I can understand that. Sometimes IF I am in my packs alpha position i will raid to use turns faster...though since you moved to a more active pack that might be hard for you.

  • other packs are raing my new pack, and I keep using turns to get back up. -.- slightly annoying, almost annoying as packmates with 13 attack attack me- and I have 300 defense. xD

  • Your welcome, glad to be of help to all that are wiling to read!

  • Full Moon Attack Bonus - does that also increase the Pack attack for Pack raids?

or is the bonus only for individual fights?

  • Individual fight only I believe =) bumpin as well for Brad
