Oh yeah, I got my first pair of boot roller skates by saving yellow stamps. Boy was I proud of those skates.

Not to mention S&H Green Stamps! I used to give them out to every customer who bought gas at our Esso Station on Kennedy (next to TECO). Gas was $.229 and would go down to $.189 during a gas price war.

The yellow stamps were "Top Value".

You got the Top Value stamps at Kwik-Chek stores (now Winn Dixie). My mother would make us kids do all the licking and heaven help you if you forgot to bring her the stamps from the store.

Anyone remember these? And the books you put them in, to then cash in for merchandise? Oldies but goodies from my youth. It was my job to put them in those little stamp books when we got them.

I used to work in the stockroom at the redemption center on Dale Mabry near the football stadium. It was a madhouse around Xmas.

Yes I remember my mom collecting these. It was through Publix I think. I remember the S&H Green Stamp store on Dale Mabry too

Publix gave out S&H Green Stamps. Kwik Chek/Winn Dixie gave out Top Value stamps. IGA, on S. Macdill, where the Salvation Army now is, gave out Plaid Stamps, I believe. Some gas stations also followed suit. It was always exciting to see the new catalogs. I wanted the Winnebago for 2000 books of Top Value stamps! Instead, we Christmas shopped there.

Who remembers the Kwik Check at Bay To Bay and Macdill? It burned down and was never rebuilt.

I remember the S&H store on N. Dale Mabry (well...it was north, then!).

Ya'll are reminding me of Standard Sales and Gold Triangle.

My mother used to collect all those stamps; then when I married, I collected them too. Redeemed books for a lot of good stuff. If I was short of books, I would sort of borrow some from mom. LOL

Oh yeah. My mom just about furnished our house with S&H green stamps! I collected some when I was first married, then they shut down. I remember the Top Value stamps too. Wow!

I loved to go to the collection center on N Dale Mabry with my aunt. She would always share her books with me. It was like Christmas any time of the year.

Boy, I remember those stamps. My high school job was as a Publix cashier and some of our customers LIVED for those things. We had a dispenser at the register and sometimes it would jam and people would be shorted a stamp or two, and they would totally freak out. Most of the time they didn't count their change, but they sure counted those green stamps!

You have got to be kidding; every time we had enough for what we wanted out of the catalog, we'd run to the redemption center. I would be surprised if someone did have any.

I remember those, both the green stamps & the yellow ones growing up .Got married in '72 and started collecting my own, If you were savy you could always ask the male shoppers if they wanted their stamps, most of the time they didn't & would give them to you.

My mom used to collect S&H Green Stamps and Top Values. It was always so much fun cashing them in on something because it was like getting it for free! And how many of you bought US Savings Bond stamps in elementary school for a dime each? We filled booklets of them. Wonder whatever happened to them? They'd be worth a fortune now! Hope mom cashed them in at some point.

Hey Bill W. I remember the Kwik Check but let me date myself . I also remember When that grocery store was a Margaret Ann and the Ice house was across the street with a dock by the RR track. That's when we live on Euclid in the last house before the Tracks and Euclid didn't go through.

My great uncle was one of the founders of S&H (Sperry and Hutchinson) Green Stamps. Of course he sold out before there was money to be made...

I remember the S&H store on Dale Mabry across from the old Horizon Park (Al Lopez Park). I was just south of Hillsborough Ave and south of the Toyota dealership...I remember the green stamps that we would lick and paste to the Green stamps book. Lick & Paste was pre-Copy & Paste!

Actually I read somewhere one our distant cousins purchased the S&H from the Binakeys who took it over frrom great uncle and was trying to turn it into S&H Green Points one of those things where you earn points toward gift cards and merchandise using a credit card. If I recall this happened in the mid 80"s or 90's.

It was so fun when you'd find a stash of them that hadn't been put into books yet!

I use to fly a light twin out of Lakeland and it held 150 gallons of fuel. I use to get the the S&H green stamps for all the fuel I got there. What a perk.

Back in 1995, as we were cleaning out my parents' house after my father died, I found some S&H green stamps. Looking at them brought back so many pleasant memories. My mother would collect those and the Top Value (yellow) stamps like they were gold. It was a big deal to go to the redemption store and cash those in. She would make us kids (there were 5 of us!) lick the stamps and put them in the books. I have to laugh at the comment from the former cashier about how folks would watch you hand out those stamps. Remember when cashiers knew how to make change and in their heads??

I still have some filled stamp books left. I guess I should quit waiting for the redemption centers to reopen.

There was another S&H store just south of Northgate facing the side street (Yukon?). After S&H went out, the building became the Agora Ballroom night club. Top Value had a store on Nebraska Ave., just south of Hillsborough near the Baptist Book Store.

I worked at Publix after school in 69-70. My grammy always wanted the stamps. We used to put them in the books and then count up to see how far away we were from the mink stole!

I still have a couple of books of S&H Green Stamps. We went to the redemption center on the final day and cashed in nearly all of them. I saved a couple, though. :)

Memories light the corners of my mind !! I still have 2 items from redeeming Green Stamp books. A metal one step stool ( still use it almost weekly) and a pole lamp with 3 opaque white bulbs. It was like Christmas year round when U had enough books to redeem
