Forfeit and Winning

  • I have had at least 2 opponents who have forfeited after being nudge twice and they have received the win. What's going on? Yes their score is more than mine but they forfeited.

  • Same thing happened to me yesterday for the first time (I was behind by just a few points and we had more than half of the tiles left to go). I was quite taken aback by this and filed a complaint with EA who runs the game. I have yet to hear back from them. Very frustrating indeed!!!

  • Do you believe they won b/c of the star on their photo? Or what leads you to believe they won?

  • The star on their photo and my stats saying so despite my pic being starred when I click on the game for a more in depth summary.

  • Were they ahead in points when they were force forfeited?

  • They weren't force forfeited. They were nudged and then CHOSE to forfeit and yes they were ahead on points.

  • Ok, once someone is nudged and they do not respond, the game may possibly FF them on its own. There was a lot of talk about us not having to do that anymore... IDK, but I guess you're saying you pressed the nudge button, but not the FF button so not sure. Either way, I noticed that the star doesn't seem to recognize a FF, but it does recognize points. I don't believe the star carries any weight, it's just to signify a win as you scroll down.

Im not sure why you think it has affected your stats unless it is a glitch of some kind. I would give it a few days and see if it rights itself if it is indeed wrong.

  • Only thing I could figure was that it was showing a star on his stats. Makes no sense since HE was the one who forfeited.

  • Right... but Im assuming he was ahead in points on your game too, right?

  • I had nudged him, he refused to go and then eventually (a day or so later) wound up forfeiting.

  • Yes, you won, he forfeited, but was he ahead on points before the game came to a close?

  • He was barely ahead in points but HE was the one to forfeit with about half the tiles left to go.

  • The one who forfeits is supposed to lose no matter whether they are ahead or not.

  • Was shocked to see that I had gotten the loss.

  • I think it affected my stats because my stats count the game as a loss....

  • That's what happened to me.

  • From what I have read in other posts we are not the only ones that this has happened to.

  • But EA hasn't responded to my email from Tuesday, not even with an automated response letting me know they received it.

  • Same thing here. I even sent them screenshots of the game. My opponent is starred as being the winner but if you go to summary it shows me as the winner. Does no good if I show a loss and my stats go down 30 points.

  • I have a feeling that we will never hear from EA. Their stock E-Mail stated that I would get a reply in 24 hours and it is well past that time.

  • I understand. You're right, he should get the loss and he may or may not have. All Im saying is, the star is not an indicator of who won or lost the game when it comes to forfeits. It only seems to reflect points. You definitely should have gotten the win if he forfeited whether it was forced or voluntary.

  • it is useless to contact EA or FB about the SCRABBLE

  • it is useless to contact EA or FB about the SCRABBLE app. neither will do anything to solve "your" problem/question. you're pretty much at the mercy of an internet game that has more problems than it's really worth. my wife & i both have complaints. she complains all the time about people she plays not playing for 20-3 days...she forces forfeit-& they still get to play. she also complains about the "ELO" scoring-she loses 20-25 pts. on a loss, but...only will get 1-2 pts on a win. it doesn't help when i tell her i won a game & my elo goes from 1776-1806 & again win-goes to 1829 after a single win, then...to 1839 after a single win. she just hates it. i can see where frustration can occur here. it "doesn't" look like scoring is equal. what i can't figure out is i have been over 80 pts behind in 2 games, playing a 1741 opponent with no more tiles & no way to make up the pts., go to forfeit & nothing happens. do opponents have the right to refuse a forfeit from their opponent?? if there is a forfeit when they are ahead...do they get a win? do they not get points on a forfeit? does anyone know? thanx.
