Cinnamon and Honey

  • Here is some information that was passed on to me about the use of Cinnamon and Honey to help treat some ailments. About 3/4's of the way down is a use to help combat fatigue. Might be worth a try.

    Cinnamon and Honey…

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call "crystallizing". When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey container in the hot water, turn off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.

    Cinnamon and Honey…

Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases.

Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada , in its issue dated 17 January 1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada , various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.

Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.

Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.

According to the studies done in India and Japan , it is revealed that if Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ' Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also increase and even a 100 year old, starts performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.

Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.

Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.

Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and flexible.. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.

People of South America , first thing in the morning, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!

  • Brian, thank you for the information I was told this past May that I have MS. I had a baby and when she turned 4 months started having problem, I'am researching everything and I am a type of person who wants to try herbs and minerals instead of drugs that promote more side affects. Have you ever heard of the Co. Planetary herbs they make a supplement that is myelin sheath repair. Please check that out and let me know your thoughts. Again thank you.Lisa

  • Hi Lisa, I tried to find the supplement you mentioned above, but none of the stores around me that carry Planetary Herbals supplements stocked it any more. The supplement is called Myelin Sheath Support. They said they did not sell enough of it to stock it, but the lady said the people that did buy it said it worked very well. I had them order me a bottle that should be in sometime next week so I will let you know what I find out. I did not think the price was to bad. Thirty pills was 17.00. I bought the biggest bottle to give it time to work. The bottle I bought was 180 pills for 60.00. I will let you know what I think from my perspective once I try them.

  • You can buy it off of or tao of herbs 1-888-828-8228. I buy it on line,180 tabs and it is 820 mg. it costs me $34.00 with shipping and handling. I feel great taking it so maybe it will work for you too. I will pray that it does.

  • Thanks for the tip on Tao of Herbs. I went to their web site. That is where I will order from next time. The original price at Mustard Seed was 60.00 plus I get 30% off of that, but Tao of Herbs prices seem much better even after the discount.

  • Honey is pretty good stuff. Unless of course, you happen to be diabetic.

  • Thanks Anna, when Brian posted the honey information I printed it off. When I was first told I had MS, I was admitted to the hospital for a week and received IV steroids and then I was told I was a type 2 diabetic due from the bags of IV's. But I am trying the honey and my sugars are very good. I have been testing before and after honey and no problems yet.

  • I use honey for night time leg cramps. I was very sceptical at first, but IT WORKS. I take 2 teaspoons twice daily. It took about a week for it to completely do away with my leg & foot cramps. Have been cramp free for over 3 months now.

Note: Local, fresh, unprocessed honey works best. Grocery store honey is heavily processed and loses its medicinal benefits.

  • Hi Tracy, thanks for the tip on Local, fresh unprocessed honey , I have just been taking this a few days and boy I hope it will help me.

  • It works so well that I am thrilled my brother-in-law is putting in a hive. He lives less than 2 miles from me so I will have VERY local honey by next year.

  • This is very interesting, I have heard of Bee stings, so could someone tell me where the cinnmmon comes in with the honey do you mix it together or what?

  • I don't know about the cinnamon, except that it is good for headaches, gas and has antiseptic and antifungal properties. And it should NOT be used as a supplement if you're pregnant, it can cause miscarriage and is used in some countries as birthcontrol.

Maybe Brian will come back on and comment on the cinnamon. I don't know much about it. There's lots of information on the net regarding healing properties. Just Google "healing properties of (whatever you want to find)."

The honey forms a sustance internally that produces small amounts of hydrogen peroxide type substance that appears to coat the surface of internal wounds. (Does it do the same with MS stuff - I don't have a clue.) It has been used for decades as an outer wound healer. In fact, the FDA has previously approved a honey-based wound care product for use in the US. Until the 40's honey was primarily used as an antibiotic - until the invention of antibiotics as we know them. Studies are being conducted all over the world on it's healing properties - except in the US. It has even been found superior to Silver Sulfamide in the treatment of burns in New Zealand. And for treating wounds caused by antibiotic resistant "super bugs". I don't know why or how it works, I just know that if I leave off the honey for a couple of days, I get leg cramps again. I've taken Baclofen, Flexeril, Klonopin, etc., etc.

I was very skeptical when I first heard about it. But, The honey works for me.... and I like it on my biscuits!

  • It's got to be the kind that people make themselves right? not store bought...and much do you take of it?

  • I'm lucky, I live way out in the boonies where it is easy to obtain fresh, local honey. Try and see if there is any honey close to where you live. If it's local, the stuff that's in your environment is naturally in there and it help you build up immunities. If you can't get local, then look in the natural foods section of your larger groceries or the health food store. Most grocery store honey is from Argentina or South America.

I started with 2 teaspoons twice a day. Now, if I miss a teaspoon, I'm still OK/. But, if I skip days totally, then I get leg cramps again. For some reason, your body processes honey different than any other type of 'sugar'. Most diabetics, especially Type IIs, can use honey and their blood sugar levels stay pretty good... don't know why that is, either.

  • and you can eat the honey with anything, I get really bad sharp pains in my head and have to take neurotion for it, and at times I get what I call charlie horses in my legs. How long if I do this will it take to knw if it is working, and will help with my energy?

  • Amanda - I'd give it a month's try, you should be able to see if it's gonna do anything by then. The charlie horses are what I was getting, too. I don't know whether it will help with energy or not... I still have days that I'm so fatigued that I can't get out of bed.... not as many, but I completely changed my diet at the same time I started using the honey daily. I couldn't take neurontin because all I wanted to do was sleep all the time, but that's been years.......

  • It hasn't been making me sleepy at all, I will try the honey, anymore good natural herbs that you will help MS without taking the shots...

  • Amanda - I would NEVER recommend you going off injections without talking to your neuro. I haven't taken them in years, but it was a joint decision d/t the side effects I was experiencing.

Find a good naturopathic practitioner and consult with them, also. Make sure you get good recommendations for one - there are a lot of quacks. I'm just somebody, who through trial and error has found something that works for me. I would recommend that you stop processed foods, though. I'm not a health food nut, for sure.... but, some things are just better tasting and lots better for you.

  • I am not sure what the cinnamon does either. I did find some local honey at one of the natural grocery stores in town. Just looking at the honey through the jar you can see a difference in the look between this stuff and the grocery store stuff. As far as natural herbs to try I took Lisa's advice and am trying the Myelin Sheath Support. It is only the third day of using this supplement so I do not have much feedback on it, but the lady at the health store said they always hear good results from people who use it. Sales pitch or not I am not sure, but will keep using it and see what happens. I agree with Tracy in staying with you current treatment path unless you talk to your neuro. I am doing all of this in conjunction with my normal treatment.

  • The link below goes to a page that gives some information on Cinnamon.

If you do a search for Cinnamon and Honey you will find many pages that pretty much say the same thing as my original post and the link I just put in above. I am still looking for more information.

  • I haven't taken any injections since I have been Dx, cause I am to scared.

  • K, I have a question. what about Honey that the amish make would that be ok to use.

  • I would say yes. You just want to avoid the precessed junk in the grocery store. The regular honey at the grocery you can see through. The local Jar I bough you can not even see through the honey. I have been using a tablespoon of honey and putting it in hot water with my green tea. The honey disolves in to the water and then I sprinkle some ground cinnamon in to the cup before I take the tea bag out. It does make a good cup of tea.

  • I hate the taste of Honey, (even thou it's my maiden name) But you can buy BEE POLLEN in a granulated form and it has the same mdecinal qualities. You purchase it at a health food store, and keep it in the fridge. And you start by eating one or two granules and work your way up to a teaspoon a day!!

  • After reading the posts, I am anxious to tell you that I am using the Honey and Cinnamon. I had an "attack" of arthritis in a finger on each hand, it was so severe my fingers were very swollen and very painful. After being on the H & C for over a month now, the swelling has gone away and the pain is gone too. I am so sold on the H&C because I have a reaction to any medicine, there is no reaction to the H&C. I play organ and can actually play now. My Bro-in-law has been diagnosed with M.S., I am so anxious to have him try the H&C, he is progressing so fast and it's definitely worth him trying. Also,....Don't Eat RED MEAT!!!!!

  • Does it have to honey? I am highly allergic to honey.

  • I have always been allergic to everything especially any kind of "medicine". No problem with honey but I buy from a local and here in Montana, there is very little pollution. You may be getting something that's in the honey where you buy it. (?) Sorry, I've never heard of this before so I can't say.

  • I can not even touch honey or bees wax, I have to have benadryl with me all the time. I found this when I was 15 :(
