Best Blenders for Soft Serve

  • I've been having trouble getting a good consistency from the soft serve. My blender just doesn't do it right. Can anyone recommend a good small inexpensive blender? I mean about $20 and under? I've seen the magic bullet but that's out of my price range. Thanks everyone!

  • I havent seen any under $20, i'm still looking too. My regular blender works great if I start it then drop the ice cubes in one or two at a time, alot faster too-then i addthe water and MF powder. The small cheap blenders didnt work for me-think the ice cubes are too big and so I took the blenders back. I did find an attachment for the blender thats like the magic bullet-is a cup with a blender/lid attachment and just fits on top of the base.

  • I use a Cuisinart immersion blender I bought at a discont store for $15. It works great for ice cream and shake slushies.

  • I use a food processor to shave the ice. It does a great job. I then mix the ice and Medifast product in a Magic Bullet. Pre shaving the ice takes the strain off the Bullet. Works very well and using choc. pudding and ww cream cheese .... the mixture turns out better than the Medifast ice cream or dairy queen!

  • The NINJA! I have to let my ice sit for a few minutes because it comes out of the freezer rock hard. Blend it first...looks like Hawaiian shave ice. Then add the packet, the water and whir away for about 30-40 seconds. Awesome.

  • Thanks for the tips. I'm increasing my price range. Still hard to find anything that works with the ice. Anyone have an ice chopper? A man at a store I was at suggested I try the Deni ice chopper. He said it makes ice into almost a snow-like consistency. I'm going to look into it but I think it's again out of my price range.

  • check craig's list or second hand stores you might find just what you need.

  • Kimber, Not sure if they have Costco's in your area but I just bought a Magic Bullet with so many attachments not sure what to do with them all for just a little over $30.00

  • Wow, that's a great deal. My sister is a member. I'll have to check that out. Thanks, Cathy!

  • i love my magic bullet.

  • A note that might help...I saw on a youtube video to take the screw-on blade part of the blender and twist-on a small mason jar or jelly jar in place of the blender pitcher part, making the space smaller caused the contents to move better = better blending.

Dont know if that will help anyone, just wanted to mention it.
