Here are just a few common-sense parameters for posting a message on this Facebook site.
If you have a question or comment of any kind, please post it in a public area, such as in response to a post on our wall (if related to the subject), or in this forum, "LL Discussions." That way, everyone can see the question and answer.
Derogatory or defamatory posts will be removed, and the writer may be banned. The administrators of this page at Little League International are the sole arbiters of what constitutes derogatory or defamatory language.
Advertising or spam will be removed, and the writer may be banned. The administrators of this page at Little League International are the sole arbiters of what constitutes advertising or spam.
Representatives from other pages (for companies, products or services) are welcome to be fans of this page. However, if you wish to post anything as a representative of your company, product or service, you will need to first receive permission from the Marketing Division at Little League International. Otherwise, please only post as an individual person. (Exception: In most cases, posting as a local Little League or District is OK.)
In short, if you wish to market a product, service, web site, fund-raiser, another Facebook page, etc., you should contact the Marketing Division at Little League International.
Repeated posts will be removed, and the writer may be banned. The administrators of this page at Little League International are the sole arbiters of what constitutes repeated posts.
In general, do not name any specific person, town, league or district, unless it is to specifically praise them.
This forum is NEVER to be used to facilitate any meeting with a minor of any age. Posts that violate this rule will be deleted.
In general, do not provide your personal email or any other personal contact information in any post on this Facebook page, nor those of anyone else.
In most cases, you should not post links to other pages or websites, including YouTube, photo pages, etc.
This is a Little League site. Other organizations have their own Facebook pages. If you want to write about those organizations, please go to their sites.
As on a Little League field, sportsmanlike is required here. The administrators of this page (like the umpires at the field) at Little League International are the sole arbiters of what constitutes unsportsmanlike conduct.
Stay on the topic. If you want to start your own topic/thread in the “LL Discussion” section, please do so. (You will need to "friend" this page in order to start your own topic, and accept the use of the LL Discussion app.)
Anyone is welcome to chime in on any topic at any time. Do not disparage someone for adding their two cents, even if your message is directed at a particular person. This is a public forum. If you want to have a private “conversation” with someone, message them privately.
Naughty words are not allowed. Comments with naughty words will be removed, and the writer may be banned. We will not provide you with a list of words we think are naughty, because we will leave some out, and some smart-aleck will use them. (Smart aleck is not naughty.) So, the administrators of this page at Little League International are the sole arbiters of what constitutes a naughty word. (Please try not to use asterisks in the place of letters one might find in naughty words. Everyone knows what is missing. Find a different word.)
In general, comments about your political or religious views should be avoided. There are millions of places on the Internet where you can let those views be known. And while we respect all (well, most) opinions, this is not one of those places.
We at Little League International appreciate the assistance of many frequent contributors to this forum. You know who you are. If we notice that a rule, regulation, policy, etc., has been misinterpreted, we'll say so. We kick one once in a while, too.
This forum, and comments by us or anyone else do not constitute an "official" answer or position on any subject. The Rules, Regulations and Policies of Little League Baseball and Softball, along with the Charter Committee/Tournament Committee in Williamsport, are the final word on any issue or dispute. Amendments to the printed Rules and Regulations may be required from time to time, which become "official" when posted on the Little League web site at www.LittleLeague.org
If you want to receive an answer in writing, or you have an issue that is personal in nature and you do not want others to see it, please contact the appropriate Regional Center listed here: http://www.littleleague.org/learn/about/contacts.htm
