I am looking for information on the Panico/Scala/Russo family. Here is what I found when in went to visit Hoyt Library today on the Micro fish.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Would like to find pictures, anything of interest.

Mrs Assunda R. Scala 65, of 608 North Second, died Monday after an eight month illness. Assunda Russo was born in Italy Aug 6, 1875, and was married to Carlo Scala before coming to the United States. After her husband's death in 1910. Mrs Scala came to Saginaw, where she had been a resident since 1929. She leaves one daughter, Mrs Charolette Panico, one son, Isidoro; one sister Mrs Carmen Leonorde and one brother Angelo Russo of Naples Italy: Six grandchildren. The funeral will take place at 7:45 am Thursday at the Deisler chapel and at 8 am at Mt Carmel church. Rev Fr James D Kenny will officiate and burial will be in Mt Olivet.

Passed away Wednesday, January 22, 1986, at St Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Age 91 years. Charlotte Scala was born in Naples, Italy residing in Saginaw most of her life. She was married to Gaetano Panico in October of 1917 in Saginaw. He predeceased her. She was a member of St Casmir Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons and three daughters. Calo D. Panico, Bay City; Dominic A. Panico, Saginaw; Virginia Whitney, Carroll ton; Mrs Pasquale (Susan) F.) DiSarno, Saginaw; Mrs Richard (Mary A.) Tyra, Hemlock. 20 grandchildren: 23 great grandchildren. One brother Isadore Scala, Encino, CAl. Once son, Andrew Panico predeceased her.
Funeral service will take place 10:20 am Monday at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter at State, 11:00 am at St Casimir Catholic Church. Rev Gerald Kukia will officiate with burial in Mt Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Hemmeter after 7:00 pm Saturday where they will meet with relatives at 4:00 pm. Sunday for a prayer service. The family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Saturday and on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Those who so desire may make memorials to Hospice of Saginaw.
