New York Style Cheesecake

  • I just spent two hours and over $25 for ingredients to make this was a disaster!! I think a 500 degree oven is much too hot to for this cheesecake. I did turn it down to 200 degress after 10 minutes, as the recipe instructed, but by the time I looked at it in 60 minutes, it was completely cracked all over, very brown and had a burnt smell. Maybe the test kitchen ovens cool off more quickly, but apparently mine does not. What a disappointment!!

  • I followed this recipe to the letter and the cheesecake came out perfect. Be sure to turn oven off and prop open the door.
