Greasy Apple Fritters

  • I tried your recipe for Apple fritters, but they were greasy. I used a cooking oil made up of Safflower, grape seed, sunflower and canola oils, advertised for high temperatures. The temperature when I put the first fritter in was 357 degrees. I only put 3 fritters in at a time and the temperature dropped to 280 after a couple of minutes.

What can be done to keep the fritters from soaking up the oil? Would a higher starting temperature help?

PLEASE RESPOND. I'd like to refine the recipe and cook them for an upcoming family function, but cannot until the grease problem is corrected.
